I’m sick of the homophobia in schools. I’m sick of directors trying to push it under the rug while innocent, young LGBTQ teens and young adults are pushed aside and harassed. Several times at an after school orchestra program my gay friend was called, “fag” and told by several ignorant kids, “I kill fags like you for a living.” When my friend reported it to our band director, who is highly religious, she swept it under the rug, and the kids were never approached or questioned. Stop the homophobia and hate crimes.
